New Toys

Shawn got some new toys for the barn.

He says this one is mine but I have my doubts. He doesn't let me play like he should.

More Music

Jayson Steelman is working on a new CD. I get to do the photography!

I have never had a shoot that converted over into black and white as easily as this one for the Steelman Gang did. I don't know if it was the tracks, the depot, the lighting or what. But every picture simply grayed where it needed to gray and turned black where it needed to. It was so easy.

And I just love the combination of color and black & white in those where I combined it.

Thank you Steelman Family (or most of it) for letting me working with you. I really enjoyed the chance to shoot you! I will start working on some album covers soon!

Sweet Kids

These are the Steelman kids. Their mom is a good friend of mine. They are such good kids. This is Amber. She is a sophmore at Snyder High School.

As I was editing Amber I was struck by a profound innocence in her eyes, her countenance.

This is her brother Alex. He has the sweetest smile.

If you are thinking you might recognize him, you may have seen him on another blog.
He is a freshman at Snyder High.

He has the sweetest smile!

I enjoyed working with these kids. They are really good kids and the more I know them the better I like them. The next blog you will see their dad. There is something about their mom, she won't let me take her picture yet. It's probably a trust factor.....

See You at the Pole, Ira

I was invited to attend the See You at the Pole student assembly this morning in Ira. Never mind the beautiful fall morning that God made, look at what his kids were doing....

....praying at school....

Snyder High School Hall of Fame

I had never had the opportunity to attend the induction of Hall of Famers for Snyder but what a thrill this must be for the honorees. My select inductee was Leslie Brown who was certainly a hometown hero for Snyder.

He did everything he possibly could for the sports programs in Snyder ending with his graduation in 1965. Baseball, football, basketball. If it ended in 'ball' he did it! And then he continued to do it all through his adult career as well, coaching all across the state of Texas.

He was inducted by Bob O'Day.

And certainly he was among some of Snyder's best. This is Mr. Brown with the other inductees.
What would a day like this be without your old teammates? These men certainly went on to their own personal successes, but knowing that the glory days helped to form the men they would become.
I have a feeling they could tell some stories!
Jerry Vestal was on hand to celebrate with his teammate too.
The current Snyder football head coach stops to congratulate Mr. Brown as well.

It just goes to show you kids. You never know when EXCELLENCE will catch up to you. It may be a little slower in making its rounds but Snyder won't let it go unnoticed. So keep yourselves to the task, it WILL payoff!

Snyder's Homecoming

Blair got to go to homecoming at a 'Big' school this past weekend. Her friend Alex took her with him to Snyder's homecoming. As much as Snyder's homecoming was an oddity to her, I am sure Ira's will be to Alex.

A Frog Blog

I am sure that the frog would tell a much different story but he came to visit us last night. He would tell a tale of horror and abduction, I am sure.
The girls played with him for a little while but the cat was simply taken. I think the cat was hoping that it would turn into a friend if kissed or a meal if biten.
"Smells like chicken...."

"I have never seen this frog before!"

"I'll pee,I swear I'll pee!"
