Ground Breaking for the New Ira School

Ira is a pretty special place.  Our new school has been several years in the making and we are finally seeing the evidence of the thing hoped for.  Ground breaking for the construction project was yesterday, Thursday July 25.  Many of the community showed up to show their support and approval for the new school.  The ceremonial shovel is usually gold like you see in the preceding pix, but we decided that we could have something so much more unique and something that would be an absolute piece of Ira history if we painted it the school colors and had as many of the community members who wanted to sign it.  Everyone participated!  Now we will have something that generations to come will look at and wonder, "what on earth does THAT say"?    I hope that a few more community members who weren't able to sign it will stop in and do so.  Ira is rich in history and love and the tradition continues.
