I see things

I probably don't see anything that others don't see as well but most people don't carry around the equipment to document what they've seen.
This is Nathan Kelley and his little 2 or 3 year old grandson at church Sunday.  I'm not at all sure they both aren't asleep but it was such a sweet tender moment that I couldn't just stand there without taking the picture.  Nathan wasn't about to wake that sweet boy to stand in prayer, neither would our heavenly Father if we put all our trust in Him this way.  When it's time to get up and go He will awaken us no doubt, but until then He sits and loves us and waits for our rest to be complete.

My Sweet Neighbors, Joe & Wanda Falls, 65 Years of Love

This year, 2013, Shawn and I will be married for 25 years.  But forty years before that even, Joe and Wanda decided to start their lives together.  I hope that after 65 years Shawn and I are still as in love as Joe & Wanda seem to be.  We had a lot of fun playing in my studio taking pictures, they still played with one another and gave one another sweet looks and seemed to enjoy the kissing!
Joe, Wanda, we love y'all and are thankful for Godly examples like you!

Red River Ski Trip, 2013

In ski lessons

The red and white scarves and hats were tell tell CBC youth.
The only way I knew who was coming down the hill!

Everybody looked like a pro falling!  Not so much staying ON the ski's!

Don't quit your day job Chuck!

The Calvary Baptist Youth had the opportunity to go skiing in Red River, New Mexico this month.  While I did not ski myself (I know my limitations) I did take my camera and get some fun pix of the kids enjoying a climate they aren't at all accustomed to.  As we arrived in New Mexico we were greeted by a light dusting of snow which, as we got increasingly deeper as we made out way up to 10,000 feet elevation.  What surprised us the most was the morning we awoke to a -35 degree thermometer!  It was never above 20 degrees and thankfully never below -35!  It only took about a full day of exposure for everyone of the kids to figure out that you must wear gloves and layers and something to cover your head and BOOTS!  I can honestly say I never did get chilled, I was absolutely COLD!  Several of us moms cooked hot meals for the kids to eat and that helped them save money on the trip as well.  The final night the men built a nice bonfire for the kids to stretch their faith and warm their bodies and spirits.  I very much enjoyed this opportunity and getting to know the kids in the youth department a little better.  I did find while there however, that I am very much a PLAINS DWELLER! I loved seeing the mountains but was happy to see some flat country on the way home.
