Retiree 2012. Don Farmer

Mr. Farmer is being challenged here, I do believe.

These older ladies and their fingers in his face were hilarious!

A very sincere tear.

I am very behind in my blogging.  Don Farmer worked for Bell Cypret Seale for many many years and chose to retire this year (in January) to move closer to his family.  The response of the community to show him love and appreciation for his compassion, humor and professionalism was overwhelming.  And apparently Mr. Farmer is a little bit of a prankster judging from some of the comments that were made at the party.  What amazed me was that he held the prankster persona but he also would greet ladies who were obviously associating him with the loss of a loved one and he would weep with them as if the wounds were as fresh as the day of their funeral of that loved one.  Don thank you for your investment into our community.

Senior 2012. Amber Steelman

Amber.  The first time I took her picture she was 15.  She is the daughter of a really good friend of mine and I have enjoyed watching her grow into a mature and strong young woman.  She has a innocence in her eyes that was there at age 15 but now there is wisdom and a bright future.  I am looking forward to watching her grow into the woman that God intends for her to be.  I know she will enjoy the ride.  Love you Amber!

Moments are a gift

I admittedly don't know just a lot about track but I do know encouragement when I see it and I have sense enough to know WHO hands me (as a mom and photographer) these moments to be captured.  Blair ran in the Borden County track meet and came in first in her heat but fourth in the race.  Coach Edwards greeted her at the finish line and I am not really sure what all was said in this exchange but it looks like an encouragement to me.  What strikes me in this moment is that everyone else ran the same race but they had no one to greet them at the finish line.  This, to me, is the difference between the Christian and the rest of humanity who chose to run but not for HIM.
This reminded of 1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one recieves the prize?  Run in such a way that you may obtain it..
and
Matthew 25:23  His lord said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you a ruler over many things.  Enter into the joy of your Lord."

The Square!

The people who are creating things for the IPad are getting rich!  And they are making my life simpler all the time.  See that little thingy on my IPad?  That's "The Square" and am I impressed!  I can take credit cards through that thing now.  As long as I have an internet connect I am able to either run your credit card through that slot or I can type the number into the IPad and get you approved right then and there!  SO STINKIN' COOL!  No more PayPal and that yuck!  Woohoo!

Ryan and Amanda, Young Love

Young Love.  When everything is new and exciting and hopeful and you are so ready for your life to just get going!  Ryan Glenney, originally from Muscatine Iowa, the Assistant Men's Basketball coach at Western Texas College here in Snyder and his beautiful fiancee, Amanda Solis from Alamo, Texas who now works in Financial Aid for WTC called and wanted to meet with me one Saturday afternoon.  Other than the wind being just a little cool we couldn't have asked for a better day!  The sun was full and strong and beautiful.  These two sweethearts met at Dallas Baptist University in Grad School and Ryan loved her the second he saw her!  They are just too cute.  They really are in love and just waiting for July 1 to arrive so they can make it all official in Dallas.
Ryan, Amanda thank you so much for calling me.  I loved loved loved working with you!  Congratulations and I truly wish you all the best!

Baby Camera

Its funny what comes your way when your a photographer.  My uncle who probably inspired my love of cameras and consequently the love of the art of photography sent me this tiny little spy camera from his childhood!  It has to be 60 plus years old.  I think it is really cute and fascinating!  It isn't a light proof box anymore by any means but its a novel little thing.  Obviously it is a film camera or was in its day...I think it was sold as a "Spy Camera" to kids.
It looks like it go scared and passed out in the last pic!

New Parents, Brently Smith

It's kind of fun watching new parents with that first baby.  They are absolutely sure that not only will that child break but that they might be the ones to break him!  If not them, YOU!  Chuck and Rachelle are madly in love with tiny little Brently who made his surprise entrance into the world the day after Christmas.  The Smith's are the youth ministers at Calvary and are very sincere and capable of raising sweet little tiny Brently.  He is a beautiful little man and we are all proud of him for them!
Welcome to the world little Brently....grow strong!
