A Frog Blog

I am sure that the frog would tell a much different story but he came to visit us last night. He would tell a tale of horror and abduction, I am sure.
The girls played with him for a little while but the cat was simply taken. I think the cat was hoping that it would turn into a friend if kissed or a meal if biten.
"Smells like chicken...."

"I have never seen this frog before!"

Guitar

There is something so cool about a guitar. My dad gave my girls his old guitar which he bought in 1960. It is in incredible condition. Sadly it has never played a single song. I am not sure that it is destined for a better life now but it certainly has had a lot of attention. Maybe that makes up for its lack of musical opportunity.

Double Digits Part 2

Raven & Emily turned 10 years old on 9/9/9. Having been born on 9/9/99.
Since our house was turned upside down and we had no furniture we celebrated in the floor.

And at the breakfast table. Even on her birthday, Raven still isn't much of a morning person.

Emily is always awake if you offer her chocolate chip pancakes.

Ready for school.
That afternoon I took popcorn, pickles and tiny cokes to their class. Instead of watching a movie I taught the kids to make duct tape wallets.

Then on Saturday we had all their little friends come to the PuttPutt for a couple of hours of golf. It stopped raining as we arrived and started again as we were leaving. God is good in the little things that way!

Snoopy was there, along with a bunch of colorful cupcakes that the girls decorated.

We had 10 little girls there. This is a really neat group of girls, they are so calm and nice to one another.

Then Saturday night we celebrated with family at the house. By this time we had furniture back, thank the Lord.

Think the look alike?

Happy 10th Raven & Emily, we love you!

A Really Bad Habit

I have the best neighbor in the world. Her name is Jane and she invited me to her family reunion this weekend. It is a strange thing to do, crashing someone's family reunion. While anyone will feel welcome with Jane in the room, going to a different family's reunion is an odd thing to do. Oddly enough this is a recurring theme in my life, especially lately!

This is my beautiful neighbor and her son's Ricky & Stephen:
And here is Jane. She turned 80 years old on September 1st. I was supposed to have pictures from her birthday lunch with a bunch of hens from out here at Ira, but I forgot my camera! Oh man! I felt so bad about that! But maybe I made up for it alittle this weekend.
Old men. Young men. Kids. They are different faces, but similar themes at reunions everywhere.

I think this is 'Cousins Row'.
Brother and sister. Beautiful children with a lively, wonderful legacy to live up to.

I canNOT resist bright eyes and this pose, I don't care where I am or who I am shooting. The light in these bright little eyes is just beautiful.

Jane, thank you for making me part of your family for a couple of hours. I had fun! You are a wonderul neighbor!

Chesser & Schiffner Engagement Pictures

I had the opportunity to meet a neat couple whose wedding I will be shooting soon. Meet Randy and Andrea. These two are all smiles as you can see in this picture, which I think was one of my favs!

These two families coming together makes not just a great picture but I am sure will make a beautiful life.

Thank you guys for the opportunity to meet you before the big day. I am so looking forward to it all and know that we are all going to have a great time!

I hope you like your pictures! Have fun with the final plans on the wedding!

Singing in the Rain with Rayne

Hailey Rayne. I love this kid! I have been taking her pictures since she was 4 days old and I have grown so attached to her. Her sweet Mom named her what I wanted to name one of my twins. Rayne.

This picture is just so magical to me. She looks like she is in such a wonderful place in her little mind. I want to be there with her!

This shoot was a little different for me. I got to shoot in the rain, well, light shower, and as you know kids have such a different perspective on things. As Hailey and I were talking as I was taking pictures she touched her face like she is here and I said something about her touching it and she told me that the 'rain was touching her face'. As adults we have a tendancy to say it differently, the rain 'hitting my face' is how I would say it. But it was 'touching' her.

Hailey, thank you for giving me more time to be with you and watch you grow a little more. You are a special little girl to me.
