Cotton Candy Visits Ira, Texas

Cameron Neaves, Blair, & George Neaves

FiberMax must be extra proud of Cotton Candy!

Jay Waller, Sup at Ira ISD, gets a crash course in Tractor Pulling

These machines can't move under their own power just to move from place to place so they use a Jeep to drag it.

Cameron and Shawn catch up on old times

Three motors power Cotton Candy. Three very LOUD motors!

Raven & Emily turned out with the rest of the student body to view Cotton Candy.

Since this was part of Blair's term paper, she got to do the introductions.

George tells the kids what tractor pulling is allllll about.

Cameron prepares the tractor for start

But Cameron expected Blair to be the one to pull the ignition to get Cotton Candy going.

To start each of the engines they use external starter, not a key like your car.

Nerves of steal, Blair didn't even flinch when the motor rolled over.

Each motor is started individually

You can tell by the boy's smiles that the motors are running.

K, 1, & 2 weren't as impressed as the older kids until they were allowed to crawl all over the tractor!

George is a grandpa at heart.

A couple of Blair's teachers, past & current. Gale Northcott, 2nd grade &  Kacy Richards, the teacher who will grade the term paper.

Emi takes her turn at the wheel.

Rav takes her turn.

Jay Waller congratulates Blair on a good presentation.

Putting the toy back in the toy box.

Lashing it down so it doesn't escape like Lightning McQueen did in "Cars".

Cotton Candy's rig
Blair decided to do her term paper on a subject near and dear to her Daddy's heart.  Shawn tractor pulled years ago before it ceased to be a hobby for farmers and became a sideline instead.  He loved every moment he poured into it and still goes to pulls even in Kentucky occasionally.  In order to do her report she needed to learn a lot more about the sport and attended a couple of pulls with Shawn and there met George and Cameron Neaves, a father and son pulling team from McAdoo, Texas.   They were pretty impressed with her initiative and decided to give her a leg up on the presentation of her term paper and brought their beautiful tractor to Ira for the kids and adults to be exposed to a little culture.  The kids loved every minute of the noise and the beautiful paint job and the rig that they travel in.  George and Cameron were wonderful guests to have in Ira and truly helped the kids understand a little better the "heaviest motorsport on earth".  Thank you guys for the fun!
