September 11 Memorial Service, Calvary Baptist Church

Another amazing respectful thing that my church has done.  Calvary Baptist honored Scurry County First Responders at a service on Sunday, September 11.  A day that a nation mourned one of the saddest days in American history our church celebrated and offered life restored to those in our community who work so hard to preserve life in our ranks.
Not only was a beautiful meal laid before them and church family but plaques were presented to each department that services our home county.  And that wasn't enough...Calling Levi was here in town to present an amazing concert for everyone in attendance.  They are an amazing band!  Find more about them at www.callinglevi.com .
Thank you Calvary for your respect to those who represented each department, Police, Sheriff, EMT, DPS and Fire.  Thank you Calling Levi for putting on such a wonderful show... Thank you First Responders for your sacrifices and service to our community!

Who says Baptist don't dance?

I say they do quite nicely!

 

Hillorie's parents threw her a traditional...non traditional Quinceañera to celebrate her birthday!  Around here the Quinc is normally a Catholic event so going Baptist was a little different, but what a pleasure!  All of the tradition was there but Bro. Larry McAden, Pastor of Calvary Baptist, brought it back home with such a fantastic evangelical message to guide not just Hillorie but all of her honored guests!  
Then the PARTY started!  That Calvary gang does Party too!  And it was completely PG! 
I love working with my church family...they are a hoot!

The Monster that ate my Summer

Everyone wonders about the end of August, "What happened to my summer?"  I did not wonder!  I know what happened to my summer.  It was completely taken with a construction project on the south end of my house.  I love the results and it was worth all the trouble but I am sure glad it is complete!  We are loving the extra space and the updates that we got to install.
