Mike Holmes is one of Blair's favorite people in all of Ira.  He chose her for his departmental award, History.
He is a good man.

Eighth Grade and Senior Graduates who are siblings
First Row is Eighth grade:  Mikayla Hoyle, Valerie Juarez, Karina Cowan, Raven, Emily, Alyssa Goodwin & Seth Boynton
Seniors:  Marcus Hoyle, Stefanie Juarez, Christina Cowan, Blair, Tyler Goodwin, Cheslea Boynton
The kids lobbied for the privilege to decorate their mortar boards.  Not all wanted to participate but those who did had to follow careful rules and did such a nice job.  Another way this class celebrates.

The Rose Ceremony in Ira is a long standing tradition.  Senior are allowed to give roses to those who are near and dear to them.  It's an honor to give and to receive.

The Seniors file in.

Four Ira Board Members had kids in the graduation ceremony.  They had the honor of handing the diplomas to their own kids and to kids who mean a lot to them.
Board members are:  Shawn McCowen, President; William Cotton, Member; Chuck Barbee, Member, Dirk Dunn, Secretary.
Blair opened the ceremony in prayer.

Gale Northcott, 2nd Grade is a teacher that all the students love and respect.  Blair giving her a rose.

Rowdy looks to see who is next on the list...
Jared Cotton was honored with a scholarship for his record breaking performance in 6 man sports.

Blair received a scholarship from Lone Star Ag Credit.
Tyler Goodwin delivers his Salutatorian address.  Left us all in tears. Your a good kid Tyler!
Tyler's younger brother, Zach Goodwin isn't coping too well with Tyler leaving his side.

Stefanie Juarez delivers her Valedictorian address.  Moving on and up.

Rilee Dunn gets a hug from her Dad, Dirk.
I kept noticing that as the Seniors passed by Dale they were handing him something.  It took a while to figure it out but just to throw him off kilter they would all hand him at least one golf ball... His pockets were FULL!

Proud Daddy

We sort of consider Rowdy to be our own...

"Ladies & Gentlemen, we present to you, the
Ira Class of 2014"

The Senior Hat Toss

We are so proud of all these kids.  I featured mine on my blog because, after all they are mine.  They and the Class of 2018 are an exceptional bunch of kids.  They are overcomers, they are good solid people and they expect a lot from themselves and one another.  They are a rare breed indeed.
